Clubs

Clubs are one of our most exciting activities at The Dream Center! Every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, our students participate in clubs. Clubs run for approximately six weeks each and they cover a variety of fun topics. Currently we have a hiking club, a yoga club, a sport club, a friendship bracelet club, a catering club, and a painting club! The students have already had such a fun time participating in the awesome activities that our staff has planned.

Staff Training & Team Building

This week the 2014-2015 Dream Center staff participated in training and team building. The staff took this time together to learn more about leadership, communication skills, and team work. We completed a few activities in small groups and pairs to practice.

On Monday, the staff participated in a STEM (science/technology/engineering/math) activity that required them to work in pairs to create the tallest free standing tower using only one roll of aluminum foil! This activity required us to put our minds together to complete the task. There was a lot of thinking and laughing involved in this activity. It was a great icebreaker for the team!

We had a wonderful week getting to know each other and learning how to work more effectively together. We hope to be great examples of leadership and team work for our students this year. The 2014-2015 year begins on Monday and we can't wait to welcome our students back to The Dream Center!

Welcome!

Welcome to The Dream Center's blog!

The Dream Center is a faith-based, free after school program offered for under resourced children in the Randleman and Asheboro area.  The program offers enrichment to families with children in grades K-5.  We want to inspire and influence the at-risk children in our area by fostering consistent mentor relationships and providing them with energized educated role models.

We hope you will follow our blog for information about upcoming events, pictures and details of current happenings, ways that you can help, and more details about our program. We are so excited to kick off the 2014-2015 year this coming Monday, October 20!
